Water: how much daily do we actually need?
A typical adult uses around 2.5 liters of water a day. Normally, our food supplies us with an average of 1 liter, so we still have to drink extra 1,5 liter of water to maintain the proper everyday hydration balance.
Where to get extra water from?
Throughout the day we enjoy coffee or tea, water, milk, fruit juices, and a variety of sugar-based or sugar-free sodas. But how they comply with proper everyday hydration?
We underestimate the importance of proper hydration.
Too many of us still don't treat drinking water as seriously as we should. Why is that? We usually think of hydrating only when we're thirsty. During intense office work - unlike when performing exercises - we tend to confuse the source of our tiredness, or feeling worn off. Understanding the influence of hydration can really make a difference for our everyday well-being.
How do I know when I’ve had enough?
Normally, if you drink a serving - a cup every 2 hours, that's enough. Fortunately, water cannot be overdosed, since it's calorie-free.
How to follow the proper hydration rules?
The best way is to make a habit out of drinking water throughout the day, combining it with regular activities. Start your day with water! Your body loses liquid while you sleep, so drink a serving before bed and again when you wake up. When at work, keep a glass of water on your desk, or make regular visits to our water cooler.
Make it your refreshment break from work
- a healthy habit!
